Effective January 1st, 2022 an increase of 105% will be imposed on all items made of Tin Plate.
Tin Plate manufacturers have confirmed the increase for January 1st, 2022 will be 105%. To give our customers a chance to prepare, we’ve created a list with all of the Tin Plate items effected by the increase with the January 1st pricing. This pricing is only for the Tin Plate increase, we will send out a full price list in December.
Northern Container has increased our on-hand inventory to prepare for this increase. We highly recommend customers bring in additional inventory over the next 2 months, if possible. Pricing is determined by the Ship date, not the Order date. Any orders shipped after January 1, 2022 will be invoiced at the new pricing.
We understand this is a very large increase, like nothing we've ever seen before, so we want to prepare customers as much as possible. Any information we receive, we will gladly pass on.
We have not received any official notices regarding any other January 1st increases. Although there are talks of another increase on steel pails and covers, mainly the lighter 29-gauge steel that was not increased in October. Resin (plastic) pricing had seemed to stabilize over the last couple months but another price change is possible given the rising costs of crude oil. We will update you if any increases are announced.
