Polypropylene and LDPE (low density polyethylene) are both food safe plastics. They are both commonly used in household food packaging for a variety of reasons, including thier lightweight feel, corrosion-resistance and flexibility. Our LDPE lids are stamped with the number 4 Resin Identification Code for recycling and the Polypropylene containers are stamped with the number 5 Resin Identification Code for recycling.
